Afghanistan – how long before

According to that Cameron bloke we are mission accomplished in Afghanistan http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-25398608 so how long after our troops leave before it goes back to it’s old self.

Well it would be Prince Big Ears or his sons, wouldn’t it?

Of which, William,Harry,Andrew have all served.

Well, fanciful though your idea is, to make the true comparison it would not be the Prime Minister, it would still be the Monarch, wouldn’t it? So…….

I did know what I put Chas, who would expect a frail old lady to wear a suit of armour, let alone ride a “Charging horse”, Mind you, even the King of the day had his best Knight, “The Kings Champion” to fight in his place in single combat.

I wonder , if like in medieval days, when the King, led his army into battle, just how many Wars we would fight in, if the P.M. had to lead our troops into battle?.Those were the days when you EARNED a Knighthood,

When you join the forces you just have to take it a red that you will do this or the other. It’s a job you do.
The boots on the ground doesn’t choose where to go, or who to fight. It’s the so called ‘leaders’ that dictate that.

It’s very upsetting, when one reads down that list, just how young so many were. and for what?. I have no doubt whatsoever, things will revert back to “Normal” soon after we have left. Those guys had had hardly a chance of enjoying life before it was ended.
When it all kicks off again, I just hope whoever is in Power in the U..K. says a resounding NO.

I am certainly more inclined to listen to those who have spent time there than some of the uninformed comment here.
You get the sense that some people would actually like to see a Taliban resurgency.

Not what was said at all, we all hope for peace and happiness for the residents BUT they have to police it for themselves– now ask the people who have spent time there and ask them what they think will happen.

Afganistan was a crap hole before we went in, I just hope it does’t revert back to one in a few years time. As I said before it will be the corruption that will be the factor.

God bless the 446 who have paid the ultimate sacrafice.

Afganistan has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years, ask anyone who has served there.
Will it last? I doubt it, I hope I’m wrong though.

The corruption in office I suspect is still there.

I am sure all those newly trained Afghan forces will be signed-on to the local Taliban inside of a week.

I think unfortunately you are right ,along with any equipment they have been left and trained to use.
