If you believe in reincarnation either of those or just about anything else probably. If you are not, nothing. It depends what you believe.

But i don’t know why humans and things have to die. Whish we had an unlimited life.

If we all lived forever we’d starve. Take a look at population growth and predictions for the future. Death is jusy nature’s way of culling the planet. The problem is is that the population is growing faster than the natural cull kills us off. Be careful what you wish for, it’s not inconceivable that your little corner of America could resemble Ethiopia or Somalia in a few hundred years time.

Yea getting old is horrifying.

I don’t think so. I think we’d be wanting an end to it all as we got older and older. That thought horrifies me.

But why has there to be? And death is the end of life, I’m sorry to have to tell you!!:p:)

At my age it is within sight

For me also, with the added bonus of a brush with cancer five years back.

That has made me feel very disconnected from life. A bit like when you have resigned from a job and are working out a three month notice. Nothing seems like it was, everything changes. What seemed important no longer does, you are aware that things around you, maybe even a pet cat, will be around and you won’t be.

I don’t like it, there is nothing I can do about it.

And I don’t believe in gods, faries, ghosts, zombies, afterlife, reincarnation or anything like that.

This is all there is. Make the most of it.

Well a little bit scared, when you die things go wrong. It’s how you die, you die. Most people die from car accidents, drug overdose, heart attacks and cancer.

It’s weird how humans have to die in a way.

You know…… Your never going to really know how or which way you die. What im scared of dying is a huge asteriod hitting earth or dying brutaly by somebody. Yea i know. But what we want to know is Heaven real? Or not? I belive it’s real.

Death is nothing at all……

Well, that all depends on your outlook. Personally, I don’t even think we’ll know we’ve died. As for anything that might come after, we shall have to wait and see. If it was that good, I’m sure someone would have found a way of coming back with some empirical evidence that there is a continuation of our existence. Even if only to tell their loved ones the best time to go to avoid the rush.

Death itself does not scare me, I’ve seen a lot of it over the years and in many different forms. I’ve also seen things that have given me pause, things that I can’t explain, but they’re not things that have scared me, I just can’t explain them. (Cue Jim.)

The manner of my death is, as others have said, of some concern. I’ve seen lingering, painful death and that is something I definitely wouldn’t want for myself.

As my own health has deteriorated over the years thoughts of my own mortality have naturally risen to the fore. Sometimes, late at night when you’re sat there on your own and the chest pain strikes you can’t help wondering whether this is the one that will end it all. But life, for all its faults, is very precious, so you take your spray and try to relax, endure the bitter burning in your throat and wait. So far, I’ve got a 100% survival rate!

Death is merely the absence of life as we understand it. There can be no right or wrong as to whether there is an existence after death until such time as it can be proven. And I strongly suspect that even if an ‘afterlife’ exists, it will never be proven.

I had a hernia op back in 2003. The only operation ever. Took about 45 minutes and I could have been dead for those 45 minutes because one minute I was lying there looking at the anethetist doing his thing, next minute they were removing the ventilation tube from my throat. Those 45 minutes I knew nothing. It is not like sleeping either, where you still have a level of consciousness.

Death itself isn’t too scary, I think Mark Twain summed it up well:

‘I was dead for millions of years before I was born and it never inconvenienced me a bit.’

The process of dying is the scary part. I fear some kind of unpleasant illness a great deal more than dying at the end of it, I’d much rather end it myself while I still had my dignity than waste away due to some degenerative condition.

At my age it is within sight, but I never think about it nor am I afraid or concerned about it. I would not want a lingering death, either for myself or my family but otherwise, when it comes , it comes. And then that is emphatically the end. I have been an atheist most of my life and have neither seen nor heard anything to change that view.

Gary, At my age, I must admit I wonder just when and how I will pass away.Death per sey don’t worry me, as long as I am not there when it happens!! Seriuosly though, I would believe in life after death, if I met somewon I knew who had died years ago, but has anyone ever experienced this happening?, I doubt it.

My wife and I went to a Medium many years ago, and what she stated re myself and wife was a load of B/S, however in the USA where they are very gullable, these so called Mediums make Millions out of folks trying to talk to the dead,(Bit like trying to have a conversation with the wife :highly_amused:)

I don’t think there is anything after death, no. It seems to me that we simply revert to the state of non-existence we had before we were conceived.

Still, when my time comes (not any time soon, I hope), I will be prepared to be proven wrong.
