Some good news for UK aerospace industry in this weeks Flight International, apparently millitary helicopter production is going to be focussed in the UK.
Also the development of a new 7.5ton class millitary helicopter the aw149 is going to be based in the UK. I wonder if Agusta Westland is trying to make this type attractive to the UK as a possible Puma replacement by effectively making it a British product.
Of course looking aside from the Lynx based battlefield helicopter the UK is buying which I think its too small as a Puma replacement and for that matter the EH101 is really too big.
As of yet I can’t find any pictures of the proposed AW149 variant.
