I just thought you might like to see this. We are in Labuan in Borneo in 1965-ish.

Ah yes, Seletar……I can still remember clearly the 12 ship flypast around Singapore Island when the Squadron disbanded. Quite rooted me to the spot (hard to move when the ground was shaking so much…)

I have a Canon 8000 scanner that can handle various size negatives as well as paper prints/book pages. It does everything I need and more – and I am in the publishing business! Dunno if it’s cheap in the UK though!

Right then, that’s it, time to get a slide scanner. I have dozens of slides taken by my dad in the middle east during the 60’s.
Anyone got any advice on a cheap reliable slide scanner?

excellent pic !!!
My fav is an ATC controller asking the Bev pilots to check that their gear was down and locked for take-off.
Their reply was “Checked, down and….welded” !!!! 😀

I have long realised that you can’t take them with you.
Though a Bev can take you with it… 😀

Super post Steve.
If you have cracked the posting technicalities, may this be the first of a trickle that develops into a flow.
I have long realised that you can’t take them with you.

Nice. It’s not a Spitfire and it’s not a Mustang (But you could get one or two inside, albeit disassembled… :D)
My fave Beverley story (sorry if you’ve heard it afore) is that on the first flight of the (then) GAL Freighter, test pilot ‘Timber’ Woods laconically said to the 2nd pilot: “My side’s airborne, what about yours?”
