Hi,
Many friends of mine know of course that I am some kind of aviation buff. So a friend wanted to know if Air Astana (Kazakhstan) is a good airline. He wants to fly from AMS to Kazakhstan in June 2008. I never heard from this airline before, but judging from their site they seem to operate a fairly new fleet of modern western airliners. The Air Astana fleet consists of Boeing 767s, Boeing 757s, Airbus A320s, Airbus A321 and Fokker-50 aircraft. I of course liked the fact that they operate the little Fokker.
So my question is: has anyone here flown with this airline? Is it any good? What other options are out there? Thanks in advance for your response!

They’re probably the best airline in the region.
TBH that is NOT saying much, but if your mate is happy to be going to Kazakhstan at all then he’ll be absolutely fine with Air Astana.
They used to be run by BAE Systems, but I’m not sure that is still the case?
Thanks for the info.
