Air Atlanta also operates thier 747’s on Virgin Flights when there is a technical problem with an aircraft.

Air Atlanta have many contracts around the world. When i was at MAN on work exp they operarted TF-ATN and ATW out of MAN on the V075/076 which was the Orlando flight (these aircraft are now being transferred back onto the UK register – G-VSSS being the first).

Other aircraft based operating through MAN at the time included to 3 B762s operating for Excel (now plus 4 B752s i believe), and several other TF registered B747s out of MAN. At the time (oct 02) i think it was TF-ATC (all white B742) TF-ATD (had a tailscrape at MME of the back of an MOD charter from YYZ), TF-ATE (B741 which i got 4 sectors on), TF-ATF and TF-ABA (3 class config which went to do some Oz flights for Olympic i think).Just to give you an idea of the work they did out of Manchester they picked up a couple of subs for MYT when one of their DC-10s went tech at the end of the season, the 2x Friday TFS and the SAT AGP flights were for lo-co, and there were Brize-Teeside-Calgary MOD Charters, and the Olympic series being operated from what i can remember. Hope it helps you with a bit of an insight.

Yep, Excel also have 757s and 767s leased from Air Atlanta.
It is a bit confusing but I think they do have a european bit which uses 747s from Man and Gatwick using the code EUK.

There’s a feature in the last Aircraft Illustrated on Atlanta, they’ve registered a UK business called Air Atlanta Europe.

They failed to get permission to transfer their aircraft to the UK register. They have permission now and will be returned to the UK register in the summer.
