Just visited Air Atlantic’s Classic flight open day today and taken my Dad up for the third flight of his life – in the loverly Devon!
What a superb aircraft – we both had a fantastic flight over to Bruntingthorpe and back!
Thanks to our pilot and to Will (sorry didn’t know what you looked like so couldn’t say Hi!) and the rest of the team at the Classic flight – super day – hope it was successful for you!
Thought I would post a few pics 🙂
Texan Tomcat – couldn’t see the T6!!
320psi – The hanger is looking great – The concrete area is bigger than I was expecting! – I understand now the cost!

I won’t spare Will J’s blushes – he had his picture in the local paper (The Coventry Evening Telegraph) a day or two beforehand in a nice editorial piece about the event.

Thanks to everybody for all the kind words and emails we have been sent since the weekend, it really makes all of the early mornings (not to mention the frantic Pembroke polishing!) worth while!
As Tom has already mentioned elsewhere, we have plans for many more events this year, some further afield, and more at Baginton 🙂

Indeed it was, and I think the picture posted by Albert Ross is actually at Southend (railway, houses etc)
Thanks for that – I’m sure you’re right. I have never been there and didn’t take the photo, so appreciate your local knowledge.

Can someone confirm that it was a 7-seater when operated by Southend Corporation? I don’t think I dreamt it!

I thought this might be an opportune moment to share another of the AR archive photos – you may not have seen a colour photo of G-APJB taken over 40 years ago, but here it is at Cambridge in August 1964..Enjoy! 😉
Thanks for posting that, it certainly brings back many memories.

I believe that this is the same one that use to do joy flights out of Southend in the early/mid-1960’s.
Is it still a 7 seater?

On behalf of all the volunteers, i’m glad you had a good time,as John says thanks for coming! I might have loaded you during the day! 😀

Hope to see you all again, or why not book a trip to a show, its the only way to arrive! 😀

Any news on when the next event is?

Thanks to richb and all the other people who came along to our Classic Flight Experience. Without you guys paying the money to come on the pleasure flights the aircraft wouldn’t survive.
richb, it was a pleasure taking you up in the Devon and hopefully you will come to visit us again to experience one of the other aircraft, it may even be me that takes you flying again! (just think of those smooth landings 🙂 ) I’ll try and order some better weather for the next flight!
Once again thanks to everyone who came along to support the Air Atlantique Classic Flight.
Regards,
Jon

no probs – sorry the quality of the pics is not too good – it was a bit bumpy up there today and most of my shots were blurred!
I didnt know about the hanger next to the Belfast hanger – when was that built? – is that for the ‘car re-processing’ company?
Its was built last year, its now the main spray shop/vehicle distrubution/offices building for the car and HGV contracts.
We have done well from it, due to making contact with contrators on site which have helped us out with the Q shed

😮 7 people in a Prentice!! Now that would be a curvature of the earth take off. We’ve limited APJB to 3 pax + pilot.
I’m glad all that attended enjoyed the day. It makes all the hard work before hand seem worth it after reading the comments posted here.
Cheers,
Tom.
