Hello All,
Just thought you might like to know that the volunteers of the Air Atlantique Classic Flight Ground Support Team are currently busy organizing a special night photo event for Sunday December 14th. This is the current plan, we are hoping to ground run at least one DC3, DC6, Shackleton, Pembroke and hopefully 2 Rapides will perform a simultaneous start. We are also hoping for a Vampire start and what will be the spectacular highlight of the night, a night-time Venom start! Please don’t take this as gospel as things are still very much in development but I will keep this thread updated as things proceed. The plan is for the event to run from 1600-1900 and hot food will be available from the catering van. We are hoping to attract around 40 people to the event and tickets can be purchased in advance from the Classic Flight office on 08703 304747 or contact us through our website on http://www.classicflight.com .
Hope to see some of you there,
DGH

There will of course be other aircraft from the AACF fleet available for inspection, as well as merchandise stand, Classic Flight Club International stand and not forgetting, hot food!
Please remember that access to the event will be through Coventry Airport’s West Gate, adjacent to the Oak pub in Baginton village (the other side of the runway to the terminal buildings)
Preparations are going well, I havejust heard that fences are in place giving visitors panoramic views of the aircraft, expertly assembled by ‘DGH’ and ‘Consul’…….

It’s on – hope you can join us
It’s a barren period for aircraft photographers through the winter but Air Atlantique’s Classic Flight is trying to add some cheer by running up several of its aircraft in the dark at an event on SUNDAY 14 DECEMBER, to enable you to get some unusual shots or simply to enjoy the sound and sight of classic aircraft in an unusual element.
We volunteers will be doing our best to ensure it goes well. As Dave said in his initial post: “tickets can be purchased in advance from the Classic Flight office on 08703 304747 or through our website on www.classicflight.com. “

Dont worry, if there are just 40 guests, there will be a fair crew of volunteers there to keep you all company 🙂

Must be a ‘0’ missing in the numbers to be attracted!
Good excuse for a pre-Christmas get together to drink in the atmosphere.
Imperative to support organisations like AACF during these difficult times.
See you there!

Just to whet the appetite – here’s a shot I took last year of the Shackleton being run up on a slightly foggy night. We do hope you can come along to see some of the Flight’s aircraft on the 14th – it should be something a little different!
Tim
