Here are a few from the Air Atlantique openday on the 28th July, a pleasent afternoon capped by short flight in the Prentice, and then being able to listen to four RR Griffons 🙂 in harmony. The engineer was saying the Shack is to be moved to Newquay in the coming months (not by air unfortunatly)
Your comments are welcome

AA Open day on July 28th
I was at the Open day-great flight in the Prentice and lovely foreign lady pilot!:)
It’s only the Shack that’s going to Newquay-Classic Flight will remain at CVT “for foreseeable future.”

If they move to Newquay won’t they see a drop in customers? Coventry is a nice central location for most in the UK but I doubt if I will trek all the way to Cornwall for a flight….

Well the Prentice is often refered to as a time machine, but usual its a case that you take of and by the time you get anywhere so much has changed! 😀
I seem to recall that Peewee Judge said something very similar about the Airedale – something like ‘come and fly it and we can have lunch while we’re taking off’.
I can vouch for both aircraft.
It’s many years since a flight in the Prentice at a Sywell PFA Rally but it’s good to know that it is still going strong.

On your thread title don’t you mean 28 July not 28 Aug?
That would be a feat in time mechanics. Now edited 🙂

Yes as soon as we left the runway I thought oooh errr i’m not gonna enjoy this, but feeling passed after a minute or so, thanks to the skill of our pilot (is she married?):D .
The most uncomfortable thing was being sat in in that perspex greenhouse of a canopy, nothing to do with Classic flight but that big yellow ball in the sky! oh yes and then forgetting to duck when the canopy was was opened at the end:confused: .
Sorry, i got confused about the date!
Thanks for the comments

Hi Phil, Glad you glad a good day.
Bet you waited ages for me to move away from the prentice, so that you could get that shot!;)
Cheers, Alan.
I was wearing the orange vest loading and unloading the passengers. DGH was manning the sales stall.

Glad you had a good day Phil. Cracking photo’s. Hope the Prentice flight was ok as a few people mentioned it was a bit bumpy up there that day. Thanks for supporting Classic Flight. 🙂

Beat me to it John.
The first thought I had was…………..Is thats where the Classic Flight is going?
I’ve heard Newquay mentioned before as a new home for the flight. But then again Ive heard 101 other possibles as well over the years.

newquay? is this to be the home of classic flight or just the shack? What about Mr. McHenry – will that shack be flying into newquay? Questions questions……. Get Bruce Docherty on the blower right now!!!!..;)
