There was a very nice display by two aircraft over Santa Pod (RAF Poddington) at about 14:30 today.
One was a Spitfire (possibly Griffon engined), not sure about the other but it seemed a bit ‘bigger’.
Only actually ‘heard’ the display rather than saw it but it sounded good. 🙂
Any ideas?

OFMC are still in their offices, I saw Sarah Hanna going in there last week. The fleet is much reduced and it could be that the P-51 and Spitfire were away which just leaves the Stampe, hence the empty feel.

Two of my very favourite things at once – the Pod and MH434, it doesn’t get much better than that in my little world…
Can’t honestly say I’ll be going back there any time soon. The two-seat dragster ride that false-started was my niece on her birthday treat, hence my being there instead of Duxford.
I was down at the back of the stands on the way to nosh when the display was on. We stopped and watched, of course, but those headed for the bogs, food and tat stalls were the ones who seemed uninterested.
The 90 minutes to get off the field at the end.. like Duxford in the bad old days. (Without most of the aircraft).

Are OFMC still in their old offices at Duxford? They and their hangar space looked to be devoid on a recent trip.

Paul Bonhomme in MH434 and Alistair Kay in Ferocious Frankie.
Nice display, the people around me were certainly interested. The German blokes behind me were videoing it and getting quite excited.

OFMC – MH434 and P51
Could hardly hear any of the commentary but I think I caught Paul Bonhomme as one of the pilots.
Lovely display, only about 1/3 of the crowd evinced any interest.
Still I suppose a dragster display at Legends would have a similar inverse effect.
