Boeing and Air Europa announced the signature of a purchase contract for 18 737-800 and 16 more options. First airframe to be delivered in 2007 at a rate of three aircraft per annum.
At this rate, the 737 assembly line will be opened for several years to come. I wonder how many NG are now on order and how many are still to be built. I would imagine it will take a decade to clear the order books at this stage. The A320 is a great aircraft but the 737 remains the most prolific airliner in the history of aviation.

This airline is doing great, recently they have begun to flight to China with an A340, but the success of these flights is making them consider the purchase of a 747-400 or even a 777. I guess Boeing is very happy with this loyal costumer
They’d be a lot more loyal if they went for the 787 and not the A350 (launch customer at that!)… but I may be missing a bigger picture.

Great news for Boeing and Air Europa. Great news at work is we will begin handling Air Europa next weekend so Im looking forward to working with a NG other than those of FH.
