Air Force recordings

There ar some interesting recordings on this page about wireless radio, including some air force related items – Ed Murrow on a bombing raid over Holland, and Paul Tibbets talking about dropping ‘the’ bomb. I thought some of you may like to hear them too.

Dave Homewood…..

On a similar theme, this link turned up on another forum last year, although unfortunately there does not appear to be much further progress to the site since its initial inception.

That said, some interesting clips.

Hi Whitleyfreak,

I know you’re fairly new here so you may not have seen this thread i posted a few months back. It has a number of links to recordings about D Day. There is some aviation related stuff amongst it.

The BBC 4 documentary ‘The People’s D Day’ was superb. I think you can still listen to it online. It even includes a PR Spitfire pilot in the many people interviewed about their D Day.

Here’s my thread

Very nice Dave! I enjoyed the Ed Murrow clip with the engines roaring away in the background. MORE!

I like the one where the ‘Lord Haw Haw’ broadcast is interrupted by the BBC and the allied army. 🙂
