AIR FRANCE COMET service

What did you expect ?

Years before the De Havilland 106, AIR FRANCE launched great advertising campaigns to promote its de luxe flights named Comet and Golden Comet.

The Constellation L-049 decorated by Raymond Loewy was one of the most modern aircrafts. It had 44 reversible seats or 22 luxurious berths.

The first sleeper plane service was created in 1938 when the DEWOITINE 338 came into service on the PARIS-HONG KONG route.

The D338 could either carry 22 seated passengers or fit 12 luxury seats, six of witch could be converted into sleeping berths.

It was retired from service in 1947, at the time of the first Golden Comet flight with  the Constellation.

In addition, some pictures of the 1/20 AIR FRANCE cutaway model

It’s time to introduce the new Comet in the sky with the only cutaway model to survive.

The 1/20 Lockheed Constellation is an AIR FRANCE model in painted wood produced by M.E.E.
