Air India freighters

Air India has just taken delivery of its first A.310 freighter in an effort to regain freighting work currently being monopolised by foreign operators. This is the first of a planned fleet of 10 – 12 aircraft which will include A.310’s and 743’s.

Initially, Air India are dry leasing three A.310’s and one 747. On an associated topic, EADS are discussing with Jupiter Aviation the possibility of opening a freighter conversion facility in India.

along with Jupiter Aviation, Taneja Aerospace is also a contender.

Are they converting their own A310’s or sourcing them from elsewhere??

Wait until Paris , we might see another major indian carrier jump into the freight market by ordering either the 330F or the 777F.
