Perhaps they had a brainwave. They borrowed a Trislander from Air Jamaica Express with no intention to return it and came to the conclusion that if they rubbed out Jamaica but kept the livery, they had an airline!

But looking at it, that’s incredibly tight!

I also like the Air Jamaica colour scheme and on a overcast, murky day, it’s always nice to see an A343 of JM flying overhead, approaching Heathrow.

I didn’t get to experience their service when I travelled there last year, I’m sure I will one day though… 😎

They do, indeed, have fashion shows on their flights. Very NIIIIIICE to say the least! I flew them LAX-MBJ back in ’97. Their fleet is rather impressive and has grown steadily. 6 years ago, they had had 6 A310’s, 4 A320’s, 2 727’s, 2 MD80’s and a couple prop job’s. Their remaining A310’s aren’t that old. They were leasing them from Delta, and can’t be more than 15 years old. Rather young for an airframe, in my opinion.

That Islander was down here with Le Cocqs a while back. Airline is expanding so quickly that it is taking whatever aircraft it can get its hands on.

They used to have this Islander, now based at GLA with Loganair/Scottish Air Ambulance and in those fantastic colours.

Today they operate:

4 A310
10 A320
3 A321
3 A340

A310 will be phased out by 2004 a replaced with a mix of A320 -A321

If you have Airliner World issues from a few months ago (maybe even longer), they did do a feature on Air Jamaica in one issue and then Sangster International Airport (Montego Bay) about three months later.

Perhaps that will reveal the fleet. My copies are not accessible at the moment unfortunately.

They have lots and lots of A321s as I saw when I was out there.

The A340s fly to London Heathrow, Manchester and John F Kennedy.

But I’ve searched for you and can’t see a thing on the Internet with regard to registrations etc.
