Another stunning restoration emerges at Sywell
From their fb page
Hawker Tempest II MW763 G-TEMT
”First roll out of G-TEMT, owned by Anglia Aircraft Restorations, coming to the end of restoration and now only waiting for completion of the Bristol Centaurus VI engine.
The scheme is that of 33 Sqdn as worn in Malaya in the 1950’s
We hope you like it!”

It really will be an Ultimate Warbird Flight. The only airworthy example, and you have to pilot it yourself !

Another shot circulated today , photo by Dan Maber
A study in evolution. And once the engine is running, you can’t count the blades…
Sywell, first flight still pending.

and now only waiting for completion of the Bristol Centaurus VI engine
I’ve always believed that the most common variant of the Centaurus in the Tempest was the V. Is there a productionlist somewhere identifying which had the V and which had the VI?

A welcome addition, hope the engine is completed soon.

After so so many false starts, and I really can’t remember how many it’s been, it finally looks like we will actually get to see a Tempest II flying in the air.
It looks absolutely stunning and will together with their magnificent Fury be the star of many airshows.
Congratulations and many thanks to everyone at Anglia Restorations for making this become a reality!
