Air Min Part ID?

Question by Dean over on WIX.

What is this Air Ministry part? I got it in a batch of stuff from an Australian auction. I’m assuming it’s some kind of airplane part, but I honestly have no idea. Take a look at these photos:

Over to the Air Min Nos Gurus…

TIA!

Can anyone post a diagram from the AP of the Automatic Pilot Mk IV showing all the components?

From the Lancaster I, II, III & X Pilots and Flight Engineers notes…
“1. The “Automatic Pilot Mk. IV” is represented in this model with the clutch permanently engaged,
and the control **** can be selected in either the IN or SPIN positions. When the control is put in the
“IN” position, the autopilot is engaged. The autopilot will keep the wings level and maintain attitude. To
adjust the attitude, the hand control on the left panel can be used. To make turns, switch on the Autopilot
main switch, and then use the autopilot steering control to turn left or right. When the turn is completed,
switch the Autopilot main switch off.”
Here’s one on ‘S’ Sugar – other types (Lincoln?) may also have used the same…
