Air operations against Daesh/IS news and debate.

I feel that we need somewhere other than Russian or Aircraft type specific threads for this. Although there is no reason why the Russian stuff cant come here too (were all friends now :p).

Here is a question…. Were RAF GR4s carrying ASRAAM when operating over Iraq? Are they carrying then now they are in slightly more confused airspace? Would an operational Typhoon ever fly without AMRAAM or have they been fitted deliberately to send a signal over Syria?
