Air Race 1925/1926

Hi all

Could anyone assist in details of an air race held at Woodford in September 1925 or September 1926.

The race was organised by the Lancashire Aero Club and the winner was
F/O HRD Waghorn – later of Schneider Trophy fame – flying an Avro Avian.
The turning points were Goyt Mill,Marple & Knutsford Water Tower, despite this there appears to be no record in the local newspapers of the time. As a current member of the Aero Club I am interested as to the background of this event.

Any help much appreciated
