Hi[:)]
Looks like it’s going to be next to LCY!

Could be quite interesting for commercial pilots in the area.
Sam
Hopefully it will be as thrilling as Abu Dhabi ’07. Which if you watched, you’d of seen me a fair few times! 🙂

I’ve watched it on the TV a few times.. the skill of those pilots and the G forces they put themselves under just has to be seen to be believed
You need to watch it in person!
It’s unbelieveable!

If that’s the case, then why build a temp runway and not use the LCY fascilities that are readily available.
I guess its because legally, as a result of constraining planning constraints, the airport would need to seek special dispensation in orer to open, and its probably not something they want to do because of their good neighbour policy. The other stupid thing (I say stupid given the overall skill of the pilots and the manouverability of the aircraft) is that the aircraft would need to be approved to use the Airport as part of the licence.

Shouldn’t effect LCY as they’ll probably start the flying in the afternoon once the Airport has closed (it is closed from Saturday lunchtime until Sunday afternoon). I should think they’ll be well out of the way for the LHR approach over central London.
