Air Scandic's dc10-30

Look’s like that it will be coming from Finnair

This is a quote from Planemad forum

Finnair retired their DC10s from service and some have been scrapped. SCY are getting one of the remaining DC10s which are still in service. SCY are on long term lease from Finnair as the two A300s are ex-Finnair. Finnair got several 752s to replace them and in the summer, Finnair 752s are leased to SCY.

Finnair used to operate 4 DC10’s:

OHLBA / B / D / E

The first three went to Air Liberte (France) whilst E is now N regd and is still in service in the US. A, B, and D are owned by a company registered in Luxumburg and are now stored at Helsinki (Hence the supposed Finnair connection). However, they have all had their engines removed and it seems that they may be for scrapping.

I’m begining to wonder if the acqisition of the type by Air Scandic is actually going to happen.

Finnair used to operate the DC-10… could it be possible they have one still within the company even after their retirement to lease out?

Now that would be good. 🙂

From an enthusiasts point of view perhaps. But I don’t think scandic could fill an MD-11 nor want one.

Perhaps Finnair will lease DC-10’s and sublease them to Scandic.
Or they’re buying some purely to lease them out.

Scandic have been leasing a/c from finnair since they started ops.
