It looks like there are two former Royal Jordanian A320’s on the market http://www.speednews.com/listings/history/xls/latestlistings.xls . C/N’s are very old and in need of some TLC. I wonder if they’re the aircraft in question?
These are believed to be the 2. It doesn’t surprise me that GRE have gone for the best they can get, or not. 😉

G-PIDS has been sold for spares and scrappage, along with one of its sister ships

Probably because it’s old and knackered ;).
One of the early 757’s, and MyTravel have worked it very hard!

I know this is kind of off topic but why didn’t Jet2 look at G-PIDS, I believe this aircraft had now gone to the desert for storage????
Cheers

Think you will soon find that any Scottish involvement in this venture will soon disappear
Yes they’ve been Spanish owned for a while now, even as “Scottish owned” they were set up by an exiled Iraqi businessman. Whilst starting up at roughly the same time, Fly Globespan have been showing the way as the more succesful ‘Scottish’ airline.

.How much more Scottish can they get?

I understand that Air Scotland now plan to use two ex-Jordanian A320s instead of the Greek B757.
How much more Scottish can they get?

Seems the end is nigh for Air Scotland.
The B757 is off to Lasham 25 Apr then onward to Jet2. The new Spanish owners plan to keep Greece Airways going without the Air Scotland involvement with two A320’s. One based at GLA and the other based Gerona. However, during the coming months the entire operation will be moved to Spain.
No surprises there, just amazed they lasted this long.

Anyone else vote for a name change? Might help their public image, assuming the press don’t put it on the front page! “Air Scotland now Scottish Airways”. Most non-original name I could come up with 🙂

How about they just **** of back to Greece and call themselves Greece Airways, that’d be nice. 😉
