just found this on the website

Air-Scotland.com current operation is the fruit of the joint efforts and co-operation between Air-Scotland.com Limited, a Scottish company and Greece Airways, which is a Greek company registered in Athens and licensed by the Greek Civil Aviation Authority.

Air-Scotland.com launched its services and started flying on the 29th of March 2003 in co-operation with other airlines like Electra Airlines and Air Holland who failed to deliver the service and the standard, which Air-Scotland.com was aiming to deliver to its passengers. Air-Scotland.com then teamed up with Greece Airways as its operating partner who is guaranteed to deliver what Air-Scotland.com has aimed for in every way.

I don’t believe the callsign is still Electra? That wouldn’t really make much sense considering Electra went bust. But this is the saga of Air Scotland and stranger things have happened!

Electra

I have heard from a website that Air Scotlands callsing is “Electra” i was wondering why is it “Electra”?
I also heard that it could be connected with Electra Airlines that were based in scotland sometime ago. I remember the electricity board in scotland was called Electra though i doubt this has any thing to do with it.

it looks great i think, so does the new one!!!

i’m still saying that they should get hold of next-gen 737’s sometime soon – make them truly low-cost 🙂

Good work Sandy.. One thing I think needs adding is the ‘.com’ somewhere as you see very few airlines (including Air Scotland) Without it now. You’d think Ryanair would have it plastered it all over their planes.. Not a mention of it anywhere.
