Having been a radio controlled aeromodeller for some 40 years I now find that the weather situation is pathetic for model flying generally (too wet or too windy).
To remedy this I have now turned to model boats as the weather does not effect these as much as model aircraft.
At present I am building a 1/24th scale, radio controlled, electric driven, Air Sea Rescue launch (British Power Boats model) with the kit supplied by Deans Marine of Peterborough
I particularly wish to scale this model as the original “156” boat as I have made contact with the original Captain’s Son and also the Son of a B.17 from Chelveston which crashed in a minefield in the North Sea and were rescued by this boat.
Can anyone out there suggest where I can find details of where this boat was stationed and any further information which would be most helpful. I have a certain amount but anything further will help to make this a really good model.
