Air to Air: The Dove from above…

…or more accrurately, with its freshly painted new roundels, the Devon from above. Very much now on the airshow and pleasure flying scene, we present ex. BBMF DH Devon ‘VP981’, now operated in full passenger carrying trim by Air Atlantique Classic Flight.

All together…. “Ahhh, de Havilland” 🙂

Great stuff Will! Very nice to see the Devon repainted back with its correct serial and 1950s RAFTC scheme. I never did like it masquerading as a ‘Gulf Aviation Dove’ ! 😮

Looking at the Devon pictured banking away to the right, it is interesting to see how asymetric the aircraft is! You normally expect one side of an aircraft to pretty much mirror the other yet here you have several differences including one elevator severely ‘clipped’ compared to the other…

…the kind of detail that you might miss until somebody points it out and it sticks out like a sore thumb!

(and yes, it is supposed to look like that!)

Cheers for the kind comments, glad you liked the pictures 🙂

Hopefully, we might be able to see the pictures taken by this suspicious looking/elusive character as well….

…which he describes as “some nice cloudscapes that some inconsiderate pillock parked a Pembroke in the way of……..”

Some people
