I am planning an assignment for my history class on the New Zealand Air Training Corp in World War Two (1941-45).
I have some great sources for information on the local ATC, but I need to find some wartime history on similar youth air cadet movements overseas at the time to make comparisons with.
Can anyone point me in the direction of websites or easily accessed resources that might help me gain an understanding of the wartime air cadets in say Britain, Australia, Canada, or the USA?
or does anyone here have personal memories of serving in such a unit between 1941-1945?
Thanks,
Dave

The foreunner of the ATC in the UK was the Air Defence Cadet Corps, formed in 1938 by Air Commodore J A Chamier. The ATC was formed on 5.2.1941, so googling on either might help as will possibly googling on Volunteer Gliding School as they were formed in 1943.

Flypast and I think Aeroplane did some aricles a while ago of wartime recollections in the Air Training Corps. I will have to have a dig to find the issues if I still have them.
Aquick google brought this up http://www.wartimememories.co.uk/aircadets.html
