It’s going to be interesting if they have to change a rudder, matching the text up. I guess they are all stickers though, split and applied line by line to a white rudder ?

Also, a designer fed up with the AA.com website : http://www.dustincurtis.com/dear_american_airlines.html and the response from a UX Designer at AA : http://www.dustincurtis.com/dear_dustin_curtis.html

haha good video.
Yes, I can just imagine Airline officials in a meeting like that ‘what we’re looking for is our planes to be in a livery thats, er, basically, all white’
“What we’re looking for chaps, is something soothing and minimalist, what we’re not looking for is a design that would make us stand out and attract attention on a crowded apron or in the skies. We’ve seen your portfolio with your blockbusting Finnair design, and we’re damned impressed, so thats why we’ve come to you guys. We look forward to touching base with you real soon……remember now……lots ‘o white”;)

Let’s not be too hard on the designers. We don’t know what brief they were given, or how many people were involved in choosing it.
HA HA!
Reminds me of a few clients…..

You must have read my mind. It would appear these colour, or rather the lack of it, schemes are descending into a mire of minimalism. It seems that those so called ‘brand experts’ are charging a lot of ‘money for old rope’ as my Nan used to say. Crying shame.:(
Yeah, ashame really. Those companies probably boast about having employees with art and design degrees etc and yet design a livery that a primary school kid could of come up with.
Airlines should probably select 3 designs, put them up on their website as a ‘poll’ and let the passengers/spotters decide.

Finnair, see what you’ve started! :diablo:
