Hi Folks
I’m new to the forum and just wondered if anyone could help?
I’ve booked a day trip to take the kids to Lapland in a couple of weeks from Manchester. The travel documents have arrived and our flights are operated by Air Via (flight code VIM). I understand that this is a Bulgarian Charter Airline. Does anyone have any experience of them?
Cheers

Their Tu154s were regular weekly visitors to Doncaster right up until October too.
They were? Surprised by that! I know BH Air TU5s were in Doncaster and a number of other airports regularly this summer, but I wasn’t aware Air VIA TU5s had been seen in the UK for some years.

“Air Via are banned I believe.”
I don’t recall seeing them on any of the lists of banned airlines published recently – either UK, or EU.
I do recall that they were banned was an issue some years ago.

They must be banned from fairly recently as their was a TU154 at GLA at the end of the summer season

That be BH Air, not Air Via 😉
Well spotted,Graham…glazed doughnut for you, but they were fairly regular at GLA once upon a time. I think it is correct that the Tu154’s are banned from UK, so looks like an A320 then.

Welcome to the forum! 🙂
Never flown them, but, they are very regular visitors to UK airports during the summer, i have never really heard anything negative about them….they fly A320 and TU154 aircraft(which are being phased out and replaced by TU 204’s)
Hope this helps.
Oh…….when you get to Lapland…can you remind them ….A 100-500 Canon fit IS lens…AND i HAVE been a good boy this year. cheers:D

Hopefully from when they had a Tu154 based at MAN for a summer season (in the ealry 1990s) when Globe Mediterrean operated for about a nanosecond before ceasing operations, causing tour operators to seek an “urgent” replacement.
