Air Wales

Just though people maybe interested in reading, I flew last Wednesday evening on the new Air Wales route from Cardiff to London City. The aircraft was an ATR 42, we left at 1920hrs (on time) and it took about 50 mins to get to London City.

Six passengers including myself boarded at Cardiff with six already on board from Swansea. The fare was quite good around £50 single, drinks and snacks were purchasable on board.

I found it a handy short hop to use, particularly on the day when railway lines were reported to be buckling under the heat and speed restrictions were in place. Hopefully it will become a popular link and more passengers will make use of it, one down side maybe the fact that Cardiff Airport is quite a distance from the city centre.

I returned back to the Northwest the following afternoon from Norwich to Manchester with Eastern Airways on one of their J41s, again this is a handy cross-country link, taking just under and hour and around 6 hours by train.
