1st December 2004 – Air Wales gears up for busiest year yet.
Yield and passenger numbers rise.Air Wales, Wales’ national airline, today announced record passenger and yield growth on a number of its 17 domestic routes operated to date. Carrying in excess of 19,000 passengers on our network during October 2004, passenger figures show strong growth of over 20%, representing a consecutive increase in quarter-year results for the airline.
With the establishment of successful routes to Liverpool, Aberdeen, Newcastle and Norwich, the airline is currently enjoying record network growth of 34% in the past 6 months, consolidating Air Wales’ position as one of the UK’s premier regional airlines.

Yes, they pulled out of SWS at the start of November, thank god!!! They were stupid to start a base their; Bad access, no facilities and no passengers. They made losses there from the start. hopefully we should see more expansion at CWL, and i wish they’d get some better jet aircraft.
btw- confirmed, bmibaby starting twice weekly service to Faro, increasing frequencies to Belfast & Paris to twice daily and adding extra flight to Palma bringing total to 5 a week from CWL.

Great news for Air Wales, had doubts over them a few years back when they dropped a few routes.
I heard somewhere that they are stopping all flights going in and out of Swansea, is that true?
I also heard that everywhere you fly to from Swansea, you go via Cardiff, is that true as well?
I don’t know Wales as well! 🙂
