Airborne lifeboat and refuge

I came across these two in the Scottish maritime Museum at Irvine, which may be of interest.

This was an airborne lifeboat, which was underslung below the likes of Fortress’ and Shackletons’ and the like to be dropped by parachute to downed airmen.
It was sold off as surplus and converted to a pleasure craft

The other is a floating refuge, which was one of a number of such craft anchored in the North Sea to provide shelter and a place to be rescued.
