Airbus A319

I was lucky tonight to switched from a cancelled British European Dash 8 flight onto a British Airways A319. There is loads of room on this small jetliner. Infact i would say more than on a 747-400 or airbus A340. Just my opinion but on of the best planes that I have flown on so far.

Well Ive flown alot of Airbus flights mainly on A320/321 but I got my first go on an A319 earlier this year when I took Germanwings to CGN and back.

To be honest there isnt much difference from its brothers but it is noticable how short it is from the inside.

Overall I enjoyed my flight on it and as you can see from my signature my next 2 flights will also be on A319s.

The seats are real leather and it’s an excellant aircraft to work on from a cabin crew point of view. Loads of galley space, overhaed lockers are big so pax can bring on their ridiculous amounts of cabin baggage and pax like them, the drop down saftety demo screens are pretty cool too!!!

RE: Airbus A319

We too had no entertainment but for short haul there is really no need. Just as you get settled with a good programme, it’s usually time for landing. Mine was just 1h 45mins and I could only just accept having to watch a map on very sparsely distributed TV screens.

I personally think that using an A319 for a four a half hour flight is ridiculous. That should be a medium haul flight because calling it short haul is stupid.

Is the route usually operated by an A319?

RE: Airbus A319

Check the link – it’s an Airbus A319 of British Airways registration G-EUPV. I’ve flown on that very aircraft and sat in seat 17D on February 11th. It was a fantastic aircraft!

RE: Airbus A319

Iberia ones have been sent to Miami to IB South American´s hub so I have never flown on it. In any case, a pic taken by me some months ago at MAD

RE: Airbus A319

The BA A319s are really very nice a/c. The leather (or immitation leather more likely) seats are very comfortable and the layout provides plenty of leg room.

From the outside the A319 is a very nice looking a/c and certainly one of my favourites.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-04-02 AT 07:59 PM (GMT)]Back to the old point…the aircraft type is not relevant, it is the configuration the carrier chooses which affects comfort levels.

Kabir – what do you think of IA comfort over all?

RE: Airbus A319

I noticed exactly the same thing. British Airways A319 aircraft really are fantastic aircraft. I flew from BCN to LHR back in February and was extremely comfortable with a comfy seat and more than enough leg room.

I’ve never had the chance to fly on a Dash 8 aircraft, but they look pretty good from the outside – obviously the inside isn’t quite as good.
