Hi,
I was wondering if any airports are adapting for the immient arrival of the A380?
I saw on the airbus website only 80ish airport can accept it at the present time, 3 being in London.
Do you think this will affect the popularity of the 747? or the 777?
The A380 seems huge, but only has 17 toilets for 550 people, and with it flying 8000 miles I thought that wasn’t very much.

You should be able to work it all out from this:
Can’t be bothered to write out all the flights 🙂

Thanks, I’ll have a look !

As I said above, the ‘Hercules’ is higher and wider than the An225 but is not as long.
Ah, so you did! I should read things better 😀
my bad

I would like to own my own Hercules!
They always destroy Hercules and most of the planes that crash. Is that so enemy can’t find out our secret equipment???

Is it bigger than an Antonov 225? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SO-YLIj_xwo

So who is next after Qantas? Lufthansa, Air France or China Southern?
A380 is not the biggest aircraft (Hercules is) nor even the biggest in service (Mriya is) nor does it have biggest engines (777-300ER/200LR engines are bigger).
When does Emirates get their second frame? And when does Emirates third frame arrive? (I think 2 frames would be needed for daily DXB-JFK)
Supplier woes delay second Emirates A380; daily JFK superjumbo service to be impacted.

Maybe, but there is a Emirates A380 permanently at Heathrow…:D
Yes there is indeed, they got rid of the Concorde and put that there, apparently it’s the real size of a Boeing 737.

And it’s smaller than a C-130 too ! 😀
C-27 Spartan is the smallest !

Lockheed or Bombardier one?
The Emirates A380 is 1:3 scale. This means 26,6 m wingspan (bigger than E-170, almost as big as B737-100), something like 258 cm fuselage width and 285 cm fuselage height…
And that Emirates A380 is said to have operating empty weight of 45 tons. Which is IIRC more than the maximum take-off weight of E170, and definitely more than operating empty weight of C110 or C130.

Just had a look on the link, I’ve heard about that one before, it only made one flight. It’s massive!

I’ll bet you think there’s only one Concorde, don’t you? :diablo:
Nope !!! 😀
There is one at Heathrow airport just fading away!
They should of kept one going with the Red Arrows

Not so!
He is referring to the Hughes H4 Hercules or ‘Spruce Goose’, not the C130.
A taller tail fin and greater wingspan than the An-225 and the A380, but both the A380-800 and the An-225 are longer.
