AIRBUS or BOEING

What would you prefer to fly? An Airbus or a Boeing? And to travel as a passenger?.

RE: AIRBUS or BOEING

I like both. But if I was pushed for an answer then it would have to be Boeing. Only because the 777 and 744 IMO are great aircraft although 3rd choice would be the A340

I can talk about narrow bodies only and in that case would say definitively Boeing as the noise level in the A320/A321 is much higher compared to a 737!

RE: AIRBUS or BOEING

I wouldn’t complain about any aircraft I would fly on. I have favourites made by Boeing and Airbus. I think that at this moment in time, it would be “fair” to say that Airbus are achieving slightly more in the world of commercial aviation with the A380 (which I and a few others don’t think is going to happen) and the A318.

I do really like the 767 (-300 in particular) by Boeing and the A320/A330 by Airbus. Not necessarily the interior but I think these aircraft really are fine pieces of aeronautical equipment!

RE: AIRBUS or BOEING

The level of confort of a A310 or any other aircraft doesn´t depend on the model but configuration and pitch between seats. Of course a charter could be unconfortable (as a B777 cramped with seats) but models like the ones of Royal Jordanian or Yemenia with only 190 seats are great. I insert a nice one landing here, from New York. I hope you like it. And they are really safe and stable. Even the Spanish new Royal aircraft will be a A310. A jewel for kings:-)

RE: AIRBUS or BOEING

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-06-02 AT 05:54 PM (GMT)]What makes them more uncomfortable than the A340/A330 and A300’s, which are also configured in a 2-4-2 economy class layout? Do those have more room somewhere that the A310 lacks? Obviously it has a shorter fuselage, but fewer seats should solve that problem. I’ve flown on A310’s of KLM, Lufthansa and AirJamaica, and they were just fine.

RE: AIRBUS or BOEING

Botyh are great but I’d have to say Airbus. The A340 was the best aircraft I’ve flown on (excluding Concorde), so quiet and very roomy I thought. I love the look of the A330 and would love to fly on this, or to actually fly it. The cockpit of the Airbus’ is just fantastic, they look so modern and are just great.

I don’t hate Boeing though, the 757 is my most commonly flown on type and is great on take-off. Also like the 747, a lot of space.

RE: AIRBUS or BOEING

Well, depends. Being European and Spain parcipating in its construction, I am glad to see Airbus success and usually prefer Airbus. This doesn´t mean that I hate Boeing (like many people who project their patriotic feeling to planes), and like some of Boeing models like the B757, B747 and the B777. I liked the B727. I do hate the B737. As far as Airbus is concerned, I like the A320/321, A310 and the A340. I don´t like the A319.

Wow, I’ve never seen a response to a post by the same person! Have you every heard the saying, “If it’s not Boeing, I aint going?” I guess that pretty much says it all. Actually, I like them both. I’ve flown on every Boeing model, except the 717(maybe the 707, not sure) and every Airbus except the A330/340. I just like flying on widebodies, regardless of the manufacturer.

RE: AIRBUS or BOEING

Tough one because some Airbus’ are nice and some Boeings are nice, and vica-versa. I would have to say Boeing though because I think all aircraft should be flown with a Control Column and not a Joystick. But I do love the exterior of the A330 and A340!

RE: AIRBUS or BOEING

I prefer Airbus in both senses, Airbus planes are equipped with more modern technology that Boeing airplanes, Airbus planes are much more beatiful (elegance and coolness) and confortable than the americans, I dont prefer Airbus because I live in Spain (Europe) I truly prefer Airbus.
