Airbus Unveils New Logo, Joins Twitter
Airbus on 17 Sep unveiled its new corporate logo, which incorporates a new futuristic looking typeface. The new logo is the first update of the European aircraft manufacturer’s logo since it was established in 1969, and retains the original ball-shaped symbol.
“We have retained many of our logo’s original features – such as the iconic ball and the deep blue that characterise Airbus and which have helped build the brand into a global household name, with over 90 per cent awareness among the travelling public and a reputation as a leader in innovation and leading- edge technology,” stated Airbus CEO Tom Enders.
The new identity will be evolved in a phased approach, beginning with website display and advertising.
That’s not all. During the last week, Airbus USA finally joined Twitter too. You can now follow them as @AirbusInTheUS . Airbus’s key rivals, Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer are already using Twitter.

To me, with the ‘sharpness’ of it, it kind of looks like it should be on the side of a spacecraft or supersonic jet 🙂 Not bad though.
