Aircraft Bits

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen
I was wondering if any out there can help me
i have aircraft parts from a wreck in the north of scotland,been told its a spitfire but after extensive research cannot find such a crash
the pilot was to have survived
the bits i have is sp8517 ps796 p6670 1-3 sp85864 and in a small oval aw158
can anybody recognise these numbers is can you tell me if they are from a spit thanks gordon

The last part number is for part of the Whitleys heating system. Looks like a good find.

Gordon – in an ideal world parts are marked with the inspectors stamp and the part numbers.

AW 158 is the Armstrong Whitworth Inspectors stamp.

The SP part numbers were used on Whitleys (also on Albemarles). Although most Albemarle parts should be AW.

Post war AW made parts for other companies.

It certainly doesn’t sound Spitfire!

158 no is to high for a whitley
