Gentlemen and Ladies,
This is a new thread where you can post all information and photos of your cockpit project. No rules about what to post, it can be a complete as removed cockpit section or a new build project such as the incredible Hornet project.
Post away… 🙂

Beautiful Sea Vixen panel Pagen!
Jack Ruskin, you must have a good supply of unobtanium from somewhere… I have it on good authority that it is what Harrier cockpits are made of.

I’d forgotten about this thread. One from me…
I was asking myself, “why does that Jack character post a picture of Dave’s backyard?” Until I saw the “formerly member ‘XV806′”:D

Thanks Rob, Letraset are still going, http://www.letraset.com/products/90-Letraset-Transfers/
Specifically I used Hellvetica medium condensed 3mm, did half take me back to my art school days in Falmouth over 20 years ago!

This is the bit I like, getting the panel lit!

…and with the IFR valve lights shining
BTW the altimeter face looks the correct type but is actually a flight 35,000ft type 20A, I am on the hunt for a 65k Mk20C, particularly for sim use.

Impressive work James, that has come up looking like new :).
Just out of curiosity what letraset did you use and where are they available from?

Just finished restoring this Sea Vixen FAW.1 observers forward (AN) panel.
It was surprising how corrosion had taken hold causing deep pitting, especially around instrument holes, fittings, and the lettering.
The panel was completely stripped, and then corrosion stopper, filler, filler primer was applied and rubbed down before the satin black coat applied.
Photos were taken so that the wording could be reapplied, this was helped by slight depressions in the panel that indicated where the lettering went exactly.
Letraset was used, although it is the correct height and width lettering, it is slightly more bold than it should be, a final satin clear coat was applied over the panel and lettering.
All instruments and switches were completey cleaned up, missing items and new screws sourced, thanks to DH112 and JonH for their invaluable help.
I could still do with finding two green lamps which are missing in the GW Acquisition panel.

I am in the process of doing the same for the observers stbd side (N) panel, and the pilots main (B) panel.

Just some of the rear floor
Going to go from the Blk 4 forward so I can get the top turret in as well.
Mad….maybe.
(Also a photo off the web of under the cockpit floor)
