Aircraft down. 7th April 1945

The information is sparse.

An aircraft (type unknown) crashed in India (Gamsala, Jhangi Jumma?) on 7th April 1945.

A pilot aboard was called Warrant Officer Peter Humphrey Watson RAFVR

He died and is buried at the military cemetery at Karachi (tended by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission)

Can anyone flesh out any more details? Particularly of the accident.

Certainly looks like a transport type. Returning POWs? Evacuating casualties?

My guess would be a C47. But does anybody know?

Possible Clue

He is buried in a Joint Grave with

WICKS, WALTER RUSSELL Lieutenant MES/109 Indian Engineers 07/04/1945 41 8. D. Joint grave 14-15.

There may be others, so maybe a transport flight??
