Details the discovery of a B-17 wreck in the North Sea during high voltage cable laying operations. Recovery will be carried out regarding human remains found onsite.
Also says a Spitfire wreck and a German aircraft have been found.

Details some pics of the press presentation. The Spitfire was identified as a type from markings found on the wreck. Among which the serial number of its aux petrol tank.

The bit about the Spitfire interested me as it is very specific, the B17 is a large aeroplane so quite easy to ID from the wreckage however broken up. The German aircraft just says that ‘a German aircraft’ I assume because they can see the markings
But a Spitfire is very specific – Either it is quite substantial or they have identified it…

In addition, pieces of a German plane were found, as well as a part of a British spitfire fighter plane.
Because of the heritage value of the discovery and out of respect for the deceased and the survivors, it was decided to adjust the cable route
