I have used Hallet Silberman on many occasions to move our warbirds,as a previous post says, they weren’t the cheapest but were very professional.

Viscount F-BGNR was moved by Allums Plant Hire, sounds like a good job all round.

Contact Phantom Phixer for more information as his website seems to be down at the moment.

They did indeed do a good job for me.

However if you look at the move they did of the Shorts to a school recently they seemed to hit a few things once they got there

Having done a few aircraft moves now my advice is dont always go for the cheapest. Saying that though there is often no need to go for the most expensive either.

Go with your gut feeling and what I mean with that is, go for who you get on with most when getting your qoutes in and getting advice. Go with who answers all your questions correctly and shows the most consideration to the safety of what you want moving. What ever you are moving can be damaged by lifting it incorrectly. You dont want that to happen.

I have extremely good contacts with most of the Haulage firms in the area. Just need to know collection/delivery locations, width, length, weight.
Transport & logistics is my forte;)

Try Allelys Heavy Haulage if Nige (Bucc Society) can’t offer advice – Midland Air Museum have used them on more than one occasion and they shift aircraft / rail stock a lot so are used to awkward loads
