A friend of mine spotted a 4 engined piston prop plane flying over Cambridge heading towards Duxford,i think it was Saturday but may have been Sunday.
He says it looked dark grey possibly blue and had a white star and white lettering on the fuselage. It was longer and thinner than a Hercules so i wondered if there were any vintage looking airliners flying in the area at the time.
He knows it wasn’t Sally B or the Lancaster but i am now puzzled, any help appreciated ,Thanks 🙂

I think you are right,if she was about at the time .I will ask him again, with a large stick 🙂 .
I did wonder if there were any preserved civilian airliners flying around but he looked at Air Atlantique and other sites and said that it wasn’t them.
My instinct is B17 then especially if she was in the area ,
Many thanks 🙂

Are you sure it wasn’t the Sally B??
She came over the museum at Bottisham at midday on Saturday & appeared to be in the circuit for Marshalls – she then cruised around the area (Wilbraham – Fulbourn etc) for a little while.
We are certainly used to people mistaking Olive Drab for blue!!!!!!!!
Cheers
