Aircraft movements today

Was on our building site near Ware, Herts today, when at about 11 o’clock a spitfire and hurricane flew very low and slow overhead heading south, was surrounded by emotive, tattooed, builders flooding out of the barns to find out what it was all about. Because of their position I could not make out any markings, but the underside finish and sound of the engines made me think it was the BOB Spitfire 2 flying with the Hurricane 1 from Cambridge, an unusual combination, presumably off to Biggin Hill, any confirmation of this?
On the way home, just getting into Finchingfield at about 16:00 when Spitfire and Mustang flew over heading south, my missus said they flew very low over our garden resulting in the usual, ‘I can taste the cordite in my mouth’ routine.
Minutes later Dragon Rapide flew over heading north, and to complete a good day, my tickets to see Allison Krauss and Union Station arrived in the post.

Eurofighters

At 5.15pm today I saw a pair of Eurofighters in formation at around 1000 feet banking over masons hill near Bromley South Station.

The Spitfire and Hurricane would have been the BBMF Spitfire IIa and the Vacher Hurricane I en route to Biggin.

Yep – BBMF Mk.II and Vacher Mk.I Hurricane in the morning.

OFMC P-51 and Spit IX in the afternoon (which did a rather lovely formation pass through DX before departing…..)
