Aircraft part ID

In a pile of stuff given to me recently is a piece with a makers mark ETF77 (in a circle)

The part number stamped on the metal is ET307126D but I have no idea what it is from. Any suggestions? It was recovered from a dump site in New South Wales, Australia some years back…

Thanks AM. My leaning towards a Boulton Paul bracket is the tubular cross bar clamps similar to the mid upper in a Halifax, as for mounting a gunsight I’m thinking that the single hole is the attaching point as per the FN types that hold the clamp around the neck of the reflector sight and then via a single bolt onto the bracket.

It may not be from a turret but the lightweight cast alloy construction does seem to indicate that it might suit an aircraft.

Not Frazer Nash and not B.P. Not the ones I’m familiar with anyway.

To be honest, I’m struggling to see how you would attach a gun sight to it?

Could it be Defiant?

I think so and electrical equipment too I think during WW2. I’m starting to suspect Boulton Paul as it doesn’t look like anything Frazer Nash would use.
