OK I give up – what type of aircraft is shown in the linked photo

I know what I think it is – but I don’t think it can be!

Yep, apologies Kev & Baz, it is Beaufighter I, they did have a different multiframed screen arrangement than later variants.
Surprising how many illustrations and models show the wrong glazing.
Sorry chaps.
Edit, also just found the image on Google as ‘Beaufighter pilot’
Surprising how many illustrations and models get the glazing of the early variant wrong aswel.

Beaufighter.
I have an image where the glazing matches 100%

The glazing on the Beaufighter did vary on a few versions.

I don’t anything about kills but the glazing is completely wrong for a Beaufighter (take a look at the model I gave you Baz!).
Look at the pic below the corner screen wraps around from the front armoured screen (unlike the above pic) and its bottom edge goes from a flat horizontal at the side and curves vertically over the curvature of the nose. Also there is no horizontal frame in the position that we see on the side screen.
It doesn’t look quite right for Mossie either, but nearest I can think of unless strange markings exercise on a captured German type.

Its a Beaufighter (Mk)IF
Narrowed down to 33 pilots who scored 6 kills or more on this type.

Wasn’t it decided it was a Beaufighter?
