Aircraft Trolley I.D

Hello again everyone,

Could be barking up the wrong tree here, but i wondered if anyone has seen a trolley like this before? My first thoughts were it was avaition related, maybe post war? I have seen a picture of another type with the same wheels of that time.

It has drum brakes on the front and a hitch at the back, perhaps to attach another one at the rear? Theres a large towing arm at the front, but no makers plate’s.

Or it could just be agricultural, any thoughts?

cheers

Ant.

Definately later, but unsure when they first came about, there is still some GSE where I work with similar chassis and wheels!

Thanks,

If anyone has any pictures of similar ones i would love to see them, Stuart do you know if this could this be a wartime trolley or was it later i.e. 50’s.

Whatever age, it will get saved for restoration, thats for sure!

Not agricultural, those split rim wheels are an industry standard, usually 3 stud, some are even shod with high speed tyres (not sure how high speed) usually braked, some on leaf springs some on indespension; I used to buy quite a few of them, I don’t think 2 of them were ever the same…..

It does look like a chassis for various types of ground equipment, such as stater generators, and small liquid cariers etc.
