Hello, Lads & Lasses, Can anyone please confirm the type of aircraft in the attached photo? A friend of mine took the photo whilst passing through Paphos Airport Cyprus in December, and he is curious to know the type. I ‘think’ it is a French ‘Flamonde’ (?Spl) but no doubt someone on this group is bound to either confirm that or put me right! Ok, over to you!!
Regards
Keith

๐ Many thanks for all the replies that confirmed the type, even if I did get the spelling wrong! My colleague did mention that there was a somewhat sorry-looking Shackleton not too far away, which seeming to be a bit shorter than the average due to the fact it was up to it’s axles in tarmac where it appears to have sunk. What a sad undignified end to a grand old lady of the sky….ho hum. But thanks again for all the replies, much appreciated.
Regards
Keith

Yes its a Flamant, I think its owned by the same guy who brought the Shackletons for a museum that never was.
They were used by the French for twin training, nav training and transport duties up to the early 80’s.

Deffinitely Dassault and absolutely, most definitely a Flamant. Nice looking aircraft, shame there are not more still around.

Iยดd say a Dassault (not Breguet) MD312 Flamant…. ๐

It is indeed a Flamant, designed and built from memory by Breguet in the 1950s. Sorry I can’t be more specific, but I’m at work at present and can’t check my books!
