Airfest 2007….Final
Sunday June 24th was huge day for the Alberta Aviation Museum and the Edmonton Aviation Heritage Society…an estimated 7,000 people came to visit between 10am and 4pm!
While the weather started shaky it improved and 47 aircraft joined Airfest 2007 to make for one of the best years every. Bob May from Winnipeg was kind enough to join us with his P-51 Mustang “City of Winnipeg”. A true gentleman Bob had time for everyone and answered questions and allowed pictures through the whole day. Thank you Bob.
Ed McDonald’s L-39 Albatros jet was also a huge draw. This former movie star airplane, Tommorow never dies, and Ed’s fantastic airside manners made for another great attraction.
Perhaps the biggest success of the day was EAA chapter 30’s young eagle flights. Thanks to the EAA and Cooking Lake Aviation Academy over 80 kids between 8 and 17 got their first flights in an aircraft. Great job gang!!!
Simulators, 737 tours, the Alberta Mustang Owners Association and so much more made for a spectacular day…bet you can’t wait for 2008!
Special thanks to our sponsors, we could not have done it with out you…

Thanks guys
We think it is real important to create interest in young folks to aspire to fly.
The whole event is run on strictly a break even basis to create awareness of aviation and aviation history.
Imagine…it was only $2.00 CDN to get in!
