This piece of art work has recently appeared on the edge of what was an RAF airfield.

Someone has been doing some research as the aircraft are all relevant to the airfield although at least two will leave even some enthusiasts scratching their heads as to what they are and why they are there.

There are five aircraft represented (I still think there should be a sixth) what are they?
And what airfield was it?

Cut one out of some ally and glue it on at night 😉

The Fairey is on the sculpture but I still think a Hoverfly should be there somewhere.
BTW that Hoverfly refuelling in flight photo (OK its only a cup of tea for the pilot) is one of my favourite posed photos.

I would say the twin is possibly an Andover and the red one a Pterodactyl
See

Well I can only identify two. The P38 and Harrier so I’ll take a stab at Wittering.
