Hi all,
Could anyone tell me of a good site dedicated to different types of MOD buildings?
I’m currently searching for certain numbers but they don’t seem to come up. I know these numbers to be correct as they are on a 1942 RAF airfield map.
Some numbers include:
11054/41
5749/36
4425/41
4426/41
4719-20/41
11270/4011048/41
12725/41
147/41
11006/41
The rest are hard to work out but hopefully after looking at some more building specs I maybe able to work them out.
If someone is willing to help I could scan the list and post on here…
Thanks in advance,
Phil.

HELP
Cheers Pagen, I have now done that.
Seems a good site!
As I said before though, if anyone on here can also help, please do. I guess you could all treat this as a research test/quiz. Might get more feedback that way 😀
Thanks again,
Phil.

Ah 5749/36 is a sleeve streamer mast, which I think was a windsock.
It gives the building type and use next to the number. Still worth visiting AIX so that you can see pics of the buildings.

5749/36 feels like it should be a watch office/control tower, but I am away from refs at the mo.

MOD Buildings..
You will see from the list why it has been hard to determine building numbers! The airfield is in Northern England.

Phil.

You can’t do any better than visit this forum http://airfieldinformationexchange.freeforums.org/
You will be amazed at what you will find out.
If I had the time I could probably run through the buildings myself, will have a go over the next day or so.
If you don’t mind me asking, which site have you got the plan of?
On the right hand side of the sheet should be a key for the building types and what they were made of, ie TB Temporary Brick, CC Cast Concrete etc.

This forum can offer a lot in the way of tying up images with building numbers.
Quite a few well versed people frequent the board, and are always willing to help.
