Airfield or Carrier equipment?

While rummaging through some of my own “what is it?” pile, I remembered a friend recently sent me photos of equipment he has had for many years and about which he’d like some more info. Both are from Government surplus auctions from the dim and distant past

The first he describes as a Coventry Climax electric powered truck of some kind (pity the rear bodywork has disappeared).

The other is a portable winch, powered by a Coventry Climax petrol engine.

Both appear to be painted in a service blue and yellow scheme, which suggests 1950s-1960s use to me, but I’m no expert.
